What Happens to the Food We Eat

During a person’s lifetime more than 30 tons of food pass through our digestive tract. When the gut falters, disease and premature aging are the results and the origins of almost all chronic inflammatory disorders can be traced back to improper digestion, absorption, or elimination.

The Origin of Micro-organisms

The origin of microorganisms, or microbes, is still a subject of ongoing research and debate among scientists. However, there are several theories about how microorganisms may have originated. Here are some of the most prominent theories

A World Without Microbes

dreamstime_m_19794591A world without bacteria may seem ideal at first. But the more we think about it, the more we realize that we cannot live without microbes.

There would be no food poisoning, no diarrhea, no coughs and colds, no sore throats, no tuberculosis, no cholera, no smallpox, no polio, no sexually transmitted diseases. There would be no decay. Foods would not get spoiled and we would not need preservatives, refrigeration and wasteful packaging.

But if nothing decays, what happens to all the plants, animals and people at the end of their life-cycle? They would be preserved forever.

Bonding and Social Behavior.

Microbes have been found to play a role in the bonding process between mothers and infants. Studies have shown that the composition of microbes in the gut, skin, and breast milk of the mother can affect the development of the infant’s immune system, metabolism, and brain function. This can impact the infant’s physical and emotional health, as well as their behavior. These interactions between mothers and infants and the transfer of microbial communities are thought to be important for the development of a strong bond between them.

Mental Health and Emotions

Recent studies have shown that the microbiome, which is the collection of microorganisms that live inside and on the human body, can have an impact on mental health and emotions.

The gut microbiome, in particular, has been linked to mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. Research has shown that the microbes in the gut can produce neurotransmitters such as serotonin, which is important for regulating mood. Changes in the composition of the gut microbiome have also been linked to changes in behavior and mood.

Micro-organism causing Brain Infection

While most strains of Naegleria fowleri are harmless, one strain can cause a rare but deadly brain infection known as Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM). This type of amoeba (micro-organism) is commonly found in warm freshwater bodies such as lakes, rivers, hot springs, ponds and is occasionally found in soil and poorly maintained swimming pools.

Pimples and Bacteria

In a world where beauty and perfection is desired, we often cannot resist the urge to pop a pimple. These nasty zits usually appear without warning just in time before a party, an important function, or a date. They can ruin that perfect look by their presence of an accumulation of oils, toxins, and bacteria.

The Magic of Chocolate

Chocolate – is produced from the seeds of the cacao or chocolate tree. The Greek name is Theobroma cacao Linnaeus and means the food of the gods. The chocolate tree produces large pods containing 30 to 40 bitter seeds embedded in a sweet sticky pulp.

The sticky pulp was a staple food of the Mayans 2000 years ago and both the Mayans and the Aztecs used the seeds to make a chocolate drink.

Biological Warfare

Biological or Bio-Warfare is the use of biological pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi and toxins) derived from living organisms to kill or incapacitate one’s enemy. From poisoned arrows (Scythians, and later the Viet Cong guerillas) to poisoned wells (Sparta, Persia, Rome and others), to bombs with deadly bacteria (Japan, United States, Soviet Union and Iraq), the intentional use of bio-warfare has been around for centuries.

Biological warfare, also known as germ warfare, is the deliberate use of disease-causing biological agents to kill or incapacitate humans, animals, and plants.

Modern Microbiology in Food Production

Microbiology is important to food safety, production, processing, preservation, and storage. Microbes such as bacteria, molds, and yeasts are employed for the production of wine, vinegar, beer, bakery, and dairy products. Nature uses microorganisms to carry out fermentation processes and microbial food processing is used to convert simple food into a value-added form with the help of microorganisms.

Micro-organisms shaping human civilization

Micro-organisms existed long before humans evolved, and bacterial/viral diseases co-evolved as human species were serving as involuntary hosts. It is interesting how closely these micro-organisms evolved with us over the millennia shaping human civilization through infection, disease and deadly pandemics. Many bacterial/viral diseases

that we see today have been around for as long as we have, and others may have developed later.

Saliva and Enzymes

It is well established by now, that your health begins in your gut.
You may not give your digestive system much attention on a day-to-day basis but remember how you feel when you are constipated or have diarrhea. You feel sluggish, uncomfortable, unmotivated, and possibly depressed. Continue reading

Isolation and Special Care

Isolation
Flu, virus, contamination, disease, sars, epidemic, etc. Nurse in uniform and protective mask.

When someone is known to be infected with a contagious disease, they are usually placed in isolation and receive specialized care with precaution taken to protect the unaffected. Historically speaking, people in this unfortunate situation never had so many modern medicines, a vast array of antibiotics and other remedies to take advantage of.

Bacteria and Decay

Dry decay brown leaf, texture

The life of bacteria is built around food. These micro-organisms don’t have traditional mouths to feed, but they eat, they digest and they excrete waste and they break down their food into its more elemental components to facilitate absorption. We need decay to break down dead matter into basic substances to provide nutrients for new plants, to feed our soil, and promote life.

What is a Leaky Gut?

A leaky gut is exactly what it implies – intestinal permeability. Let’s imagine that you have a system that regulates what is beneficial to your health and what can do damage. This is our own immune system which is in the lining of the intestines. There are certain foods that will cause inflammation

Consciousness the Binding Force

Humans realize that we are part of and united with all living things. Nature does not recognize higher or lower levels of life forms, only diversity in the eco-system. Vitality is the substance that sustains life by rhythmically cycling growth and decay. We inhale all that is necessary to live and exhale it for the next life form in need.
